Games from developers from the WSE high on Steam's list of the best in 2021

As every year, the PC game distribution platform in the digital version has prepared a list of the most popular titles in 2021. Productions from Polish developers listed on the stock exchange were in the leading positions multiple categories. Some, once again in a row.

“The Witcher 3” – regular visitor

This is the sixth edition of the ranking, which presents several types of the most popular games. The 100 games that made the highest revenue on Steam in 2021 were collected in this bestseller. The store itself does not provide detailed data, but it does present the manner in which the ranking was developed. To be in the Top 100 Selling Lists , game sales, in-game transactions, and DLC sales for each app on Steam from January 1, 2021 to December 15, 2021 counted . Then the titles were grouped depending on the place in the hundred. This is how the categories were created: platinum (places 1-12 ), gold (13-24), silver (25-40), brown (41-100).

In this category, silver was won by “Cyberpunk 2077” released by CD Projekt and “Outriders” from People Can Fly studio in cooperation with Japanese publisher Square Enix. Bronze reached “Dying Light” from Techland about to debut and reliable “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” . Since the publication of the ranking, the game, which is CD Projekt’s greatest creative success, has been on the bestseller list every year. Successful history after Early Access

Other creators from the Polish stock exchange appear in the category of titles that left Early Access in 2021, summing up their gross revenues. Early access is an increasingly popular way to debut. According to Steam, in 2021 over 1,000 games were premiered in this way. Among the best to leave this phase, they were in the platinum category: “Chernobylite” by the studio The Farm 51 listed on NewConnect and the title of “Medieval Dynasty” since a recent debut on this market – Render Cube .

Strong Polish VR

The increasingly popular VR games have also found their own category. The list was created for titles released only in VR. As with the bestseller list, this list is based on the revenue generated, informs Steam. Games that offer VR mode as part of the expansion were not taken into account. “Cooking Simulator VR” from another stock exchange debutant – Łódź ” Big Cheesee Studio , which debuted on the WSE in December. In turn, silver went to “Thief Simulator VR” from Gameboom VR in which the main shareholder is the group PlayWay . These are the mentioned Techland and Gameboom, but also Awaken Realms, Superhot Team (platinum in the VR category) or Frozen Way.
