In Croatia, the validity of covid certificates has been extended to one year

On the recommendation of the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ), the validity of the European digital covid certificate was extended in Croatia from 270 to 365 days, they announced on the website eudigitalnacovidpotvrda.hr. Meanwhile, Russian authorities are tightening controls on compliance with measures to curb the spread of the new coronavirus, as the number of covid-19-related deaths is steadily rising in the country. In the last day, 867 covid patients died, the highest ever. The authorities note that they will also have to make more efforts to persuade people to get vaccinated.

As they explained, the extended validity applies to all new and already issued certificates. Citizens who already have certificates will not have to reapply because existing certificates will be automatically renewed, they explained.

On 4 October, Croatia will introduce mandatory European digital digital certificates for all employees in health and social care. If they are not vaccinated or ill, they will have to be tested for the new coronavirus outside working hours, preferably before coming to work. Testing is recommended at least twice a week. Without PCT conditions, healthcare employees will not be able to get to work. The PCT condition does not apply to persons who deliver goods to medical institutions and stay there for a short time, the Croatian Civil Protection Headquarters announced today

Similar measures apply to employees in the social care sector. Users of such services do not need proof of PCT conditions, but will need to sign a statement before entering the facility that they have not had fever or breathing problems and have not been in contact with those infected with the new coronavirus. They will have their body temperature measured in front of the entrance. European digital certificates or other evidence of eligibility for PCT will also be required from some patients in healthcare facilities. As they pointed out, for most healthcare users, the previously established epidemiological conditions will not change. Russia tightens control over measures against coronavirus spread Russia, which has a population of about 146 million, has been recording a high number of covid-related deaths for months. According to official data, the total number of victims is just over 207,000, but the actual number is expected to be even higher, reports the German news agency dpa. As part of the tightening of control over compliance with preventive measures in Moscow, several shopping centers are now threatened with temporary closure because visitors did not wear mouth and nose protection. According to the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov the current proportion vaccinated against covid-19 is insufficient. “We probably need to explain more actively that vaccination saves lives,” he said. According to official data, about 50 million Russians have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine so far. 34 percent of the population. Doctors in Moscow are now expected to receive a bonus for each person vaccinated against covid-19, at about 2.3 euros for those aged 18 to 60, and 4.75 euros for the elderly.

ECDC draws attention to the risks of loosening measures against sufficient vaccination The European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) warns against an increase in new coronavirus infections in the autumn in countries where vaccination levels are not yet sufficient, especially in the event of the release of restrictive measures. In total, 61.1 percent of the total population of the EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein have been vaccinated, they said today. Countries with a vaccination rate at or below the European average and intending to ease measures in the next two weeks are expected to see a significant increase in infections, hospital admissions and deaths by the end of November, the German news agency dpa said in a report. ECDC. “Forecasts suggest that a combination of high vaccination coverage and effective contact restraint is key to reducing the risk of covid-19 health system strain this autumn, “ was written in the message by the director of ECDC Andrea Ammon . She added that countries should work to step up vaccination in all age groups to prevent the spread of the delta version in the coming months. Depending on the situation in each country, restrictive measures may be needed until the end of November. So far, only Malta, Portugal and Iceland have fully vaccinated more than 75 percent of the population against covid-19. In Slovenia, about 53 percent of the population is vaccinated with one dose of the covid-19 vaccine, and about 47 percent with all doses of the vaccine. The European Union will extend the mechanism for controlling the export of vaccines The European Union will extend the mechanism for controlling the export of covid-19 vaccines for another three months and will then replace it with the so-called monitoring mechanism, the European Commission announced today. Brussels introduced the measure at the beginning of the year due to problems with the supply of vaccines, and its extension is linked to uncertainty due to new versions of the virus. According to the commission, the mechanism will be extended until December 31, because uncertainties remain, especially with the emergence of new versions of the new coronavirus. On 1 January, however, they intend to introduce a “monitoring mechanism to ensure timely data on company-specific vaccine exports”. At the end of January, the European Commission set up a mechanism to ensure transparency in the export of vaccines in response to problems with the supply of vaccines against covid-19. Under the mechanism, producers of vaccines produced in the EU must obtain an appropriate authorization before exporting from a link. The mechanism allows in certain cases to ban the export of the vaccine if the company does not fulfill its contractual obligations to the EU. The measure has been extended several times in the meantime, and the last extension expires today. Brussels introduced the mechanism at the beginning of the introduction of vaccination in the EU, which was initially slow due to the large shortage of vaccine doses promised by the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca. They were angry in Brussels because the company supplied a relatively large amount of vaccine to the UK, where AstraZeneca is based, even though some doses were produced in the European Union.
