Shortly after the launch of the iPhone 13 range of smartphones, several ‘leaks’ and rumors began to point to the use of LTPO ProMotion OLED screens, that is, screens capable of reaching at 120Hz, on all iPhone 14. That is, even the iPhone 14 mini would have a screen capable of reaching 120Hz… But no! This will not happen.
iPhone 14 with 120Hz? No! It will be again only for the Pros
So the cheaper iPhone 14 models will continue with the old OLED screen, which we know so well since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017. Who says it is one of the personalities who is least mistaken in the field of screens for smartphones, Ross Young. Do you know why? Because who is responsible for the screens of the cheapest models is BOE, and this manufacturer still does not have the production capacity necessary to rise to other levels of visual quality, in bulk.
Apple has a very strict quality control, and according to the market analyst, it would be very difficult for BOE to overcome this ‘barrier’ in time for the iPhone 14 Meanwhile, while BOE is responsible for the ‘budget’ part, LG and Samsung will continue to supply their screens to the Pro and Pro Max models.
In terms of strategy, this isn’t even bad for Apple! But…
For Apple, continue to sell Pro and Pro Max models with screens OLED LTPO ProMotion, will continue to be an excellent idea. These are normally more desirable models, but with this differentiation, they end up being more expensive than the other models.
They are also devices with ‘fatter’ profit margins, compared to the ‘ normal’. It’s Win Win for Apple.

Since I was very young I have been interested in computers and technology in general, I had my first PC when I was 10 years old and at 15 I built my first tower, since then I never stopped. Whatever technology, I’m in the front row to find out more.
