  • CSK bowled well in the back end of the innings: Virat Kohli on RCB’s defeat
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore were hammered by 6 wickets by Chennai Super Kings
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli rued lack of X factor in his team after RCB suffered their seventh successive defeat in the UAE as Chennai Super Kings stormed to a six-wicket win in Sharjah. Kohli heaped rich praise on Chennai Super Kings bowlers, saying they bowled well in the back end of the innings, executed the slower balls and yorkers nicely.RCB were off to a flying start with skipper Virat Kohli (53) and Devdutt Padikkal (70) laying a solid foundation with a stand of 111 runs for the opening wicket. Kohli fell to the seasoned Dwayne Bravo after six boundaries and a six, while Padikkal hit five fours and three maximums before being dismissed by Shardul Thakur, as RCB stuttered after a fine start.RCB vs CSK, IPL 2021: Highlights | ReportChennai completed the run chase in 18.1 overs after Ruturaj Gaekwad (38) and Faf du Plessis (31) added 71 runs for the first wicket to set the tone for CSK. With this win, CSK once again moved to the top of the table with seven wins from nine matches.”The wicket did slow down a bit. But I feel we left out 15-20 runs out there. 175 would’ve been a winning total. Didn’t bowl consistently. Didn’t show that much courage I guess with the ball,” Kohli said in the post-match presentation ceremony.”They bowled well in the back end of the innings, executed the slower balls and yorkers nicely. We spoke of areas we didn’t want them to hit and we didn’t do that.Virat Kohli urged his teammates to show more courage in a crunch as IPL 2021 gets closer to the end of the league stage.”That little bit of X factor was missing in the first 5-6 overs. Got to get on that winning run again. This one is a bit more disappointing. The first one we just weren’t in the game. Have to show more courage in crunch moments. This tournament goes by quickly,” Kohli added.
