The official website of the Kyokou Suiri (In/Spectre) anime series announced a pair supporting cast and the first key visual (pictured) for the second season on Friday. The new season will begin airing in October 2022.
Makoto Furukawa (Yuukoku no Moriarty, Shakunetsu Kabaddi) and Aoi Yuuki (Heike Monogatari, Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita) are joining the cast as Masayuki Muroi and Yuki Onna, respectively.
Keiji Gotou (Sengoku Collection) is returning the direct the second season at Brain’s Base, with Noboru Takagi (Golden Kamuy) once again in charge of the series composition. Kentarou Matsumoto (D-Frag!) is designing the characters, replacing Takatoshi Honda from the first season.
Kyokou Suiri adapts Chashiba Katase‘s mystery supernatural manga based on Kyou Shirodaira‘s original novel. Katase began the manga in Shounen Magazine R in April 2015. Kodansha published the 16th volume last December 16.
The first season aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2020, adapting the first six volumes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles as it aired in Japan.
Shirodaira penned the original Kyokou Suiri novel in May 2011. Kodansha began republishing the novel through its Kodansha Taiga imprint in January 2019. The fifth volume shipped on December 15 last year.
