Millie Mackintosh ‘relieved’ as she gives health update on youngest daughter Aurelia

Millie Mackintosh has breathed a sigh of relief after being told her two month old daughter Aurelia doesn’t have hip dysplasia after her eldest child Sienna was born with it.

Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is a condition where the “ball and socket” joint of the hip does not properly form in babies and young children — a condition that needs to be treated in every one to two babies with DDH, according to the NHS.

Millie’s eldest daughter, Sienna, now two, was diagnosed with the condition in August 2020, sparking the concerned mother to have baby Aurelia checked for the condition, too.

Giving an update on social media on Monday 31 January, Millie, 32, wrote alongside a photograph of her newborn daughter: “We had an appointment today to check if Aurelia has hip dysplasia like her sister… very pleased to say we got the all clear!”

Following Sienna’s diagnosis, Millie spoke to OK! about it and insisted that she and husband Hugo Taylor, 35, whom she shares her two daughters with, were staying positive.

She told us at the time: “[Sienna] seems to be doing really well. We have a follow-up appointment in about two weeks, but I think her movement seems absolutely fine and she’s actually started crawling quite early. So fingers crossed it’s all good. I think if they have any concerns they would do another scan or X-ray, but I’m remaining really positive that her wearing the harness has worked.”

“It was a shock at the time and it was definitely hard to adapt to it,” Millie said of the diagnosis.

“Looking back, it was only for six weeks as they caught it really early. Going through something challenging like that made us appreciate everything so much more when it came off, though.”

Earlier this month, the mum-of-two revealed that she dropped the curtain on her C-section in November and watched the moment her youngest was brought into the world.

Detailing the special moment to her 1.4 million Instagram followers, Millie penned: “Firstly let me say that my birth experience was really positive, the playlist I made when I had Sienna was playing in the background, Hugo was there and I felt totally calm and ready.”

She went on: “I asked to drop the curtain and watch Aurelia be born, which was an incredible moment that I will treasure forever! I can’t thank the amazing staff at @thekensingtonwing enough for their care and support, during both of my stays.”
