Brooklyn Nets fans received some good news and bad news on Wednesday.
The bad news? New arrival Ben Simmons could potentially be weeks away from making his debut for the team due to his back issues, and according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst may not play in the month of March.
With Kyrie Irving still relegated to away contests only, Simmons’ continued absence will place a strain on a struggling Nets team eyeing a first-round matchup against a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The good news? Kevin Durant is set to return to the court on Thursday against the Miami Heat – the very team the Nets could be seeing in the playoffs. Durant has not played since Jan. 15 as he’s been recovering from an MCL strain suffered in a game against the Pelicans.
