Considered one of the most influential leaders in the country, the bishop emphasized that pastors should not claim that this or that party is of God or of the devil, for he found that both God and the devil are in all parties, in reference to faith of the members of the Brazilian parties.
“No pastor has the right to say ‘This one belongs to God and this one belongs to the devil’. And I discovered that God and the devil are in all parties”, said the bishop when answering a question about possible support for former judge Sérgio Moro.
The Ministry of Madureira is the second largest Assembly convention in the country, having declared support for President Jair Bolsonaro for the election of 2022. However, the bishop believes that all candidates must be respected.
When asked about the meeting that his father, Manoel Ferreira, primate bishop of the Assembly of God Madureira, had with former president Lula, he explained that it was just a respectful meeting with a political figure who has already occupied the Presidency of the Republic.
“It was a meeting of a pastor who went to greet someone who was already president of the Republic and with whom we had a relationship very respectful. I have respect for Lula’s history, I never deny it,” he said. Abner Ferreira clarified that the behavior of the Church will be that described in the Bible.
