RIGHT NOW: Mark Lorentzon has been found dead in a river

An alarm about a drowning incident at Stenpiren came in to SOS Alarm on Wednesday morning.

A person was found dead in the water. It was Mark Lorentzon, the suspected bomber who was chased since the explosion on Övre Husargatan a week ago. Something that Aftonbladet was the first to publish. Lorentzon has been in international demand since Wednesday.

According to GT / Expressen’s information, the police had early indications that the man found was Lorentzon. Investigators who worked on the investigation after the explosion last week were called in and forensic technicians were called to the scene.

The police do not suspect any crime regarding the finding of a body at Stenpiren.

Anders Börjesson, the police Commander-in-Chief, said at 11 o’clock:

– An identification must be made and it may take a few hours. As soon as we know, we will announce it.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office confirms

No signs of life

In connection with the man’s arrest on Monday, an international search went out for him.

– We have not had any signs of life at all. So I can not say that we had. We have not had any sure signs of life. Then it depends on how you interpret it, a lot of tips have come in and if you interpret it as a sign of life, we have had it, but no sure signs of life.

Mark Lorentzon became relevant early on as a suspected perpetrator after the explosion on Övre Husargatan in Annedal last week. According to GT, there were witness statements that he behaved strangely in connection with the explosion and then disappeared from the scene without turning around.

He was later wanted internationally but the police have also searched intensively in the Gothenburg area. Among other things, the police have conducted house searches of people with various forms of connections to Lorentzon. Earlier on Wednesday, GT / Expressen also reported that the police were searching for his bicycle, which was reported missing. As far as is known, he did not have access to a car but often traveled on his bicycle.
