Suriya’s critically acclaimed Jai Bhim listed eligible for the prestigious Oscar Award!

Suriya’s latest movie ‘Jai Bhim’ was released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2 has gained universal acclaim from critics and viewers. The critically acclaimed flick forged more viewers and gained International acknowledgements. Bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya under 2D Entertainment, it had remarkable performances by Suriya, Lijomol Jose and Manikandan.

The courtroom drama directed by T. J. Gnanavel is Based on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K. Chandru seeking justice for the police brutality towards the tribal caste people. Jai Bhim became the highest-rated movie on the IMDb during the time of release and also courted controversy as the PMK and the Vanniyar Sangam objected to certain scenes and layers in the film.

Now, the latest breaking news is that Suriya’s critically acclaimed movie Jai Bhim enters the 94TH ACADEMY AWARDS. Entertainment Industry’s biggest awards, the Oscars today announced the names of two hundred seventy-six feature films that are eligible for this year’s prestigious honour. Out of the eligible 276 titles, this is the only Tamil flick that has made it to the list. It is worth mentioning that last year Suriya’s “Soorarai Pottru” made it to the 93rd Academy Awards eligibility list.

Recently the Oscars also posted a behind the scene video of Jai Bhim on their official youtube channel, which created a buzz in the international film arena. The movie had also received official entry to the prestigious Golden Globes 2022 in the Non-English language Movie category. The film has also made it to the Noida Film Festival. The Oscar nomination voting begins on January 27, 2022, and nominations will be announced on February 8, 2022. The award ceremony is scheduled for March 27, 2022.
