Wike: Fintiri to lead Atiku’s reconciliation team

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has been appointed to lead Atiku Abubakar’s reconciliation team, as part of ongoing efforts at resolving the lingering feud between Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate.

Fintiri, who arrived the Yola International Airport, on Saturday via Max Air, while fielding questions from journalist, revealed his new assignment while answering questions on PDP crisis.

The governor noted that he has been made the chairman of the reconciliation committee set up by Atiku to resolve his feud with Governor Wike.

The governor who disclosed that he seemed the right man for the assignment, assured that with God’s help, he could reach a truce between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Wike.

This was after he had joked that with his bromance with Wike and Atiku, he was in good stead to help resolve the rift between the duo, saying, ” I am an embodiment of both men”.

He assured that the crisis rocking the party would be resolved amicably before the 2023 general elections.

He also disclosed that there were encouraging signs that the committee would succeed in brokering a peace deal, following his first meeting with While while acknowledging the enormity of the task at hand.

Fintiri explained that Wike has made substantial investment in the party to let it all go to waste if he refuses to back Atiku for the 2023 polls.

He said, “Who are his friends in the APC? Are you telling me those who are now romancing with Wike love him?

“I can assure you that with God, the party will put it’s house in order before the 2023 elections.

“Even Wike knows he has been by far the biggest investor in the party. Can he now walk away from all of his investment?

“We recognise he loves his people and I can assure you that he will have a fair deal if it comes to that, just to put the crisis behind us.”
