Havana, Oct 7 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) approved another 67 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises ( MSMEs) and the first two non-agricultural cooperatives in the country, bringing these forms of management to 102.
According to this portfolio, 66 of the MSMEs are private and one is state-owned, and the two most represented activities are those of manufacturing productions with 16 businesses and food production, with 13.
The source highlights that six of them are part of local development projects, two have carried out export activities previously and one is incubated in the Scientific and Technological Park of Havana.
The creation of employment, one of the objectives that seeks to promote these new forms of management, yields about 616 new employees in the economy.
Of this second group, 41 are reconversions of pre-existing businesses, while 28 are newly created.
This week’s approval is in addition to last Wednesday, when the first 35 MSMEs were announced as part of the improvement of economic actors.
